Intelsat 10-02 Eurostar E3000 platform spacecraft will launch on 15th June 20:27 GMT from Baikonur
cosmodrome pad 39 by Russian Proton M/Breeze M. Anticipated service life of 13 years on 1West position in
place Intelsat 707 satellite.
Largest Intelsat satellite built by EADS Astrium with 36 Ku-band and 70 C-band transponders. Most powerful in Intelsat's fleet will locate on 1
degree W.
The Proton launch vehicle will inject the satellite into geosynchronous transfer orbit, using a five-burn Breeze M mission design. The first three
stages of the Proton will use a standard ascent trajectory to place the Breeze M fourth stage, with the satellite, into a suborbital trajectory, from
which the Breeze M will place itself and the spacecraft into a circular parking orbit of 173 km, inclined at 51.5 degrees.
Then the satellite will be propelled to its transfer orbit by additional burns of the Breeze M. Following separation from the Breeze M, the spacecraft
will perform a series of liquid apogee engine burns to raise perigee, lower inclination and circularize the orbit at geostationary altitude. Target Orbit
Apogee: 35,786 km at Separation: Perigee: 4,090 km Inclination: 23.6 degrees
Spacecraft Separation: Approximately 9 hours, 10 minutes after liftoff ILS.
This launch will be 6th ILS mission this year, 2nd ILS Proton mission this year, 29th ILS mission on Proton, 307th Proton mission overall.
