A well known German CI Cam manufacture has released a new Erotic Common Interface Modul "SpiceCrypt"
SpiceCrypt has a permanently installed smartcard that will allow the reception of the Dutch based Hardcore channel Spice Platinum 24 hours a day 7 days a week for a year. The Irdeto II based encryption Cam will work in any CI receiver. The CI Cam is activated via satellite triggering a built in timer that will start and also stop exactly after one year.
The big selling point is that there is no contract between the provider and the consumer and is of course completly anonyme. The years sub can be, if wished extended but leaves the consumer the chance to buy another Cam if the technical details have been improved.
It is also possible to use a normal smart card in the CI Cam as besides having Irdeto 1 & 2 a CryptoWorks chip is also integrated so that further providers from Austria, Turkey, Polish, German and Czech can be decoded.
The CI Cam will be on sale in Germany from March and will cost €189 (approx. £135) including of course 1 year sub to "Spice Platinum"
The CI Cams will, I should imagine be available soon after in the UK.
