Filipino channels launched
FILIPINO satellite television viewers in the region will soon be able to enjoy entertainment programmes from the Philippines with the launch of a new package by Orbit Satellite Television and Radio Network.
Pinoy Plus is the latest addition to Orbit's list of channels.
It was officially launched in Bahrain yesterday at the Gulf International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Gulf Hotel, under the patronage of Information Minister and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar.
The conference, held in joint association with Nora Eastern Corporation-VIVA Middle East and Europe, was attended by Bahrain Radio and Television Corporation acting chief executive officer Khaled Al Zayani, Orbit's chief operating officer Ghassan Etani, marketing and public relations vice-president Ali Ajouz, public relations manager Alia Shaikho, NEC president and chief executive officer Abdulaziz Saleh Abalkhail, NEC-VIVA executive directors Fidel Dumanhog and Armando Tongol, marketing director Jose Gie Sinaon and representatives from the local and regional media.
The new package, which will be available in the GCC and Levant countries from next month, includes two new Filipino channels: Viva Pinoy Box Office - a 24-hour movie channel - and GMA7, plus Viva Original Pinoy Music TV - a hybrid channel featuring general entertainment and music - and Pinoy Prime Sports, a Filipino sports channel.
Viewers can subscribe by contacting any of Orbit's customer service centres or visiting any of its showrooms or agents.
