you can write in to the cam without having to use a card
the following

you will need a fun card for
some of the providers
you will need a titanium card for seca2 and conax.

I am not very formiliar with the patched irdeto cams.
If I am not mistaken you can convert your patched 5400 to a soft cam
if this is the case?
you can install softkeys via the remote control.
